For the 30th annual National Public Lands Day (NPLD), NEEF commissioned artist Anna Ferrara to create a meaningful illustration that reflected the efforts of volunteers and the enjoyment of public lands across the United States, Puerto Rico, and US Territories. The artwork was widely shared on social media, banners, and flyers, and well-received by event organizers. Its success marked the start of a new tradition.

In 2024, NEEF continued this approach by partnering with artist Eloy Sanchez-Vizcaino Mengual, whose illustration has also been appreciated throughout the NPLD community.
