AshaLetia Henderson
AshaLetia Henderson is an accomplished professional with a strong background in public health and environmental education. She currently supports NEEF's Health Program Director, focusing on planning, developing, and implementing environmental public health programs with an emphasis on health equity, environmental justice, children’s health, and climate and health in underserved populations.
Before joining NEEF, AshaLetia completed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Public Health Associate Program (PHAP), a competitive two-year intensive training program designed to strengthen the public health workforce by providing hands-on training for early-career professionals, gaining valuable experience during the coronavirus pandemic at the Florida Department of Health. Additionally, she also served in the US Air Force, where she worked in both family medicine and allergy/immunology.
AshaLetia holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from American University and a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University. She aspires to attend medical school in the future to specialize in occupational and environmental medicine, with a desire to serve underserved and under-resourced communities as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
