At Tennessee State Parks we believe in the power of nature. We believe that having outdoor spaces where we can all escape and enjoy nature is an important part of a healthy society.
With 56 parks across Tennessee, there are unlimited possibilities. Throughout the year, you can find a wide variety of events, workshops, and volunteer opportunities. Our special events vary from music events, trail runs, historic re-enactments, and festivals, to junior ranger programs. If you are looking to grow your outdoor knowledge and skills, one of our many Ranger-led workshops can teach you rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, backpacking, and naturalist training, among others.
Volunteering is Second Nature
As the volunteer state, we take pride in lending a hand whenever possible. Many of our Tennessee State Parks have Friends Groups dedicated to protecting and preserving the parks. They frequently have volunteer days throughout the year that work on projects including trail building, fundraising, and river clean ups. Tennessee State Parks welcomes everyone to enjoy the unlimited possibilities at its locations throughout the state. As John Muir said, “In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”
