The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) and the National Hockey League are joining forces to celebrate Earth month and beyond.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to continue our partnership with the NHL Green,” said Meri-Margaret Deoudes, president and CEO of NEEF. “Introducing environmental education and sustainability through sports is a unique way to engage the millions of hockey fans as well as the general public.”
Since 2010, NHL Green has been committed to promoting green business practices across the League and its Clubs while educating and inspiring fans to ensure hockey thrives for the next generation. NEEF and NHL Green kicked off their collaboration in 2018 with the “Play it Forward” initiative, which focused on reducing environmental impact through energy savings and incorporating the League's sustainability strategies into everyday life.
On Earth Day, NEEF and NHL Green announced plans to continue to foster youth engagement on environmental issues by designing educational activities focused on topics to build healthy and vibrant communities where they live, work and play.
