The United States Forest Service (USFS) has embraced NEEF’s work in several key programs.  USFS granted funds to implement NEEF’s Rx for Outdoor Activity at Children’s Forests around the nation.  The agency’s National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council supported NEEF’s effort to connect Hispanic communities in Houston and Los Angeles to urban forests for recreation, education and environmental stewardship purposes.  Lastly, as one of seven federal agencies collaborating with NEEF on National Public Lands Day, USFS contributes financial support in addition to hosting NPLD events at over 150 sites across the country.
