When compromise is impossible, environment is favored over economic development

When people are faced with a choice between environmental protection and economic development, fully 71% say they would choose the environment, while only 16% would choose the economy -- more than a four-to-one ratio. These proportions are similar to past years, and show a clear pro-environment attitude among adult Americans.
